Modern Slavery Statement
Hounslow Movers Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made by Hounslow Movers in respect of the financial year ending 31 March and sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. Hounslow Movers is committed to conducting business ethically, transparently, and in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
We recognise that modern slavery, including forced labour, debt bondage, servitude, and human trafficking, is a grave violation of fundamental human rights. We are determined to play our part in identifying, preventing, and addressing any risks of modern slavery within our business and in the services and products we procure.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Hounslow Movers has a clear zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. This applies to all aspects of our business, including direct employment, agency workers, contractors, and our entire supply chain. We will not knowingly engage with any individual or organisation involved in, or benefiting from, any form of modern slavery.
All employees, managers, and directors are expected to uphold this policy and to act with integrity and vigilance. Any breach of this policy by an employee may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal. Where a supplier or contractor is found to be in breach, we will take appropriate steps, which may include suspension or termination of the relationship.
Our Supply Chain and Supplier Audits
Our supply chain includes providers of vehicles, fuel, packing materials, equipment, storage facilities, maintenance, technology, and other services that support our moving and logistics operations. We recognise that certain parts of the supply chain may present a higher risk of labour exploitation and we are committed to identifying and managing these risks.
We conduct due diligence on new suppliers and review existing suppliers to assess their compliance with our standards on modern slavery. This may include requesting relevant policies, codes of conduct, and evidence of labour practices. Where proportionate and appropriate, we undertake supplier audits, either remotely or on-site, to verify working conditions, employment practices, and the absence of forced, coerced, or trafficked labour.
Suppliers are expected to cooperate with our audit processes and to provide accurate and timely information. Failure to cooperate or any indication of modern slavery concerns will trigger an escalation process, which may result in corrective action plans, closer monitoring, or ending the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Raising Concerns
Hounslow Movers encourages a culture of openness, where concerns about modern slavery or unethical practices can be raised without fear of retaliation. Any employee, contractor, supplier, or third party who suspects that modern slavery may be occurring in our operations or supply chain is encouraged to report their concerns as soon as possible.
Concerns can be raised through internal reporting channels, including line managers or designated senior managers responsible for compliance and risk. Reports can be made confidentially, and we will treat all information seriously and sensitively, ensuring that concerns are investigated promptly and, where appropriate, independently.
We do not tolerate victimisation or detrimental treatment of anyone who raises a concern in good faith. Any such behaviour will be treated as a disciplinary matter. Where necessary, we will engage with relevant authorities or specialist organisations to support investigations and remedial action.
Training, Awareness, and Continuous Improvement
We are committed to increasing awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff and key suppliers. Training on recognising signs of modern slavery, understanding reporting procedures, and complying with our zero-tolerance policy is made available to relevant employees, particularly those in procurement, operations, and management roles.
We regularly review our internal procedures to improve how we identify, prevent, and address modern slavery risks. This includes assessing country, sector, and product-specific risks; reviewing recruitment and labour practices; and strengthening contractual requirements for suppliers regarding ethical conduct and labour standards.
Annual Review and Approval
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is reviewed at least annually to ensure it remains accurate, effective, and aligned with legal requirements and best practice. As part of the annual review, we evaluate the effectiveness of our actions, including supplier audits, staff training, and the operation of reporting channels.
Any necessary updates or enhancements to our policies and procedures are implemented following the review. The statement is approved by the senior management of Hounslow Movers, who accept overall responsibility for ensuring that our commitments are delivered in practice and that we continue to strengthen our response to modern slavery and human trafficking.
